{"id":5099,"date":"2013-09-04T10:45:28","date_gmt":"2013-09-04T07:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/efk.epcc.ee\/2013\/09\/efk-nimetas-tonu-kaljuste-oma-audirigendiks-2\/"},"modified":"2017-05-23T17:36:18","modified_gmt":"2017-05-23T14:36:18","slug":"epcc-named-tonu-kaljuste-their-honorary-conductor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efk.epcc.ee\/en\/2013\/09\/epcc-named-tonu-kaljuste-their-honorary-conductor\/","title":{"rendered":"EPCC named T\u00f5nu Kaljuste their Honorary Conductor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The title, Certificate of Honour and medal of Honorary Conductor were presented to T\u00f5nu Kaljuste by the choir representatives during his 60<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary celebrations on 4<sup>th<\/sup> of September at the Tallinn Blackhead&#8217;s Guild Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>EPCC Managing Director Esper Linnam\u00e4gi commented the event: \u201eWe appreciate and value the contribution that T\u00f5nu Kaljuste has made on shaping the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir \u2013 he is the founder of EPCC, a long-time artistic director, a spiritual leader, a constant partner and a kindred spirit of the choir.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>T\u00f5nu Kaljuste established Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in 1981 and was its artistic director for 20 years, during that time EPCC became Estonian representative choir, who are expected at prestigious festivals and concert venues all around the world. Close cooperation has continued to this day \u2013 in the coming months EPCC performs with T\u00f5nu Kaljuste at the Usedom Festival in Germany and at the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The author of the medal of Honorary Conductor is a jewellery artist K\u00e4rt Summatavet. The front side of the silver medal shows a shaman drum, which symbolizes works performed with the choir. A fairy-virgin with three soul-birds on the back of the medal guide the medal holder behind the Milky Way to the spring of wisdom, where the Honorary Conductor brings messages to people&#8217;s hearts and opens doors to soul landscapes of the past, present and future.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Audirigendi medali autor on ehtekunstnik K\u00e4rt Summatavet.
